A good American showed his true colors this past weekend after the devastating tornadoes in Kentucky.

Mayfield, Kentucky was destroyed last weekend by a horrible tornado.

I spent 3 years working in this beautiful little Kentucky town. #MayfieldTornado this hurts every part of my soul. Prayers for you Mayfield friends. We’re thinking of you today. pic.twitter.com/ZZBwJIfRbS

But the devastation didn’t stop this man from offering food and water to the people without electricity and homes.

Jim wore a smile the whole morning, we laugh when I asked if he had a restaurant. He shook his head, “it just needed to be done,” he said. pic.twitter.com/tpZ1LMvdOA

Here was the scene before Jim Finch arrived.

This was the scene right before Jim Finch, the man in the video, set up his grill. There was later Church service in that parking lot across from him. pic.twitter.com/RQBvb2y1Ao

Gordan Chang noted that Americans don’t need to be told what to do.  They just do it.

#Americans pitch in and help those in need. They don’t have to be told what to do. #MayfieldTornado https://t.co/F9bOBAssvB
